Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a style of psychotherapy which incorporates a variety of techniques including cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, experiential, interpersonal, and body-centered therapies.

EMDR was developed in the 1980s and 90s by Francine Shapiro. Many studies have shown that is an effective treatment for a variety of mental health issues including trauma, anxiety, among others. When we meet, we can discuss if EMDR is an appropriate psychotherapy approach for you.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a therapy approach which combines the energy health modality of acupressure with cognitive and exposure therapy techniques.

EFT has been shown to be effective for improving sports, school, and work performance as well as treating a variety of emotional and mental health issues including stress, phobias, trauma, weight management, anxiety, addictions, and pain.*

EFT is one method among many energy health modalities also known as energy psychology. EFT was developed by Gary Craig in the 1990's. He drew on a variety of types of therapy when he designed EFT: holistic psychology, conditioning, counter conditioning, behavioral therapy, cognitive therapy, human potential and client centered therapy, exposure therapy, thought field therapy, and meridian points (also known as acupressure).

EFT can not only be used during the therapy session but also as a self-help tool outside of therapy. We can discuss if EFT is the right therapy for you when we meet in person.
